I'm excited about sitting down and chatting with Rev. Horton about all of the blessings that come with being called to ministry, as well as the challenges that you may face when you are called and also a woman. This is going to be a very candid conversation about her journey of accepting the call.
 
Currently Rev. Horton is serving as founder and Pastor of A Sacred Space Ministry offering virtual weekly services and serving the needs of persons in nursing homes, assisted living and home bound residents. She is also on the ministerial staff and Director of the Women’s Ministry at Salt and Light Church where Rev. Cean James is the Senior Pastor.
 
She is a mentor, conference and retreat speaker and organizer. She is blessed to have had the privilege of ministering domestically and internationally. She is a staff member of Women on the Wall Ministry and serves on the advisory team of Fellowship of Women Clergy. Rev. Horton is on the teaching staff at Redeemer Institute for Christian Education teaching various biblical and doctrinal studies. Rev. Horton is a Visionary Women alum of Interfaith Philadelphia and engages with many justice, human rights and civic associations like POWER and New Core.
 
Rev. Horton spreads the gospel of Christ through preaching, teaching, creative dance, spoken word, stage performance and writing. She is a self-published author, co-author of several anthologies, a free-lance writer, a recipient of the National Black Authors Tour, Christian Writers Award, a play writer, and radio host of her show Sacred Moments which airs Sunday’s at 9 am in various outlets.
 
She is the mother of two, stepmother of one with six beautiful grandchildren, and “Mom: to many godchildren. She is always excited and humbled whenever God calls her to minister. Her life scripture is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”
